Praise God...who cares?

So i was in the shower tonight thinking about the blog i had just posted. If god exists which i don't believe he does. Why would he want us to treat him "like a god". Why praise god everyday? I guarentee that if there is a god, which i still don't believe there is, he did not create our race with the intent that we would praise him everyday. Atmost! a simple "thank you god" every morning or evening will do just fine to satisfy the gratitude god deserves for creating us. God should be treated with the same respect as we should have for our parents or grand parents. But this whole religion issue will become completly unrealistic in the coming future.

My point is that nothing we do as humans will effect the emotions of a god-like figure. There is simply no correlation. If a god like figure did create us, i would hope it would be for a reason. But i don't believe god expects the excessive respect we give him.

In conclusion I believe that religion may have been created in order to instill a sense of morals into people with hopes of making the world a better place. (i.e. the ten commandments ----> sense of morality instilled in mankind -----> more peaceful and happy world to live in (people obey the ten commandments because they fear the wrath of god.))

Hi! Praise to God is not something that should be done out of compulsion - a "have to." Fact is, when you know all that God has done for you, you "want to" praise Him. Jesus, the Son of God, humbled Himself enough to leave His throne in heaven, to deal with worldly issues, and to be tortured and killed. And all for love. John 3:16 Has anyone - brothers, sisters, grandparents, girlfriend - ever loved you that much? No one on this earth has ever made such a sacrifice, especially not for those who would reject Him. That's where the praise comes in. He deserves it.

God did create us all for a reason - for His pleasure. He wanted relationship with more than just angels who would do what He said regardless. He wanted a relationship that was based on choice, not compulsion.

What is the point of morality if there is no God? Someone could kill and rob you, and no one could lift a finger if there was no moral absolutes. God created those absolutes, and yes, we are accountable to Him for our behavior. The legal system we have in the US today is based on God's pattern of justice. However, His justice is perfect. When we violate His commands by sinning, we are sentenced to eternal death. "The wages of sin is death . . ." Romans 6:23 However, God, in His mercy, sent Jesus to be our substitute. Instead of us paying for the fine of death as we should have, we now can receive the substitute of the perfect Son of God.

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise . . . but is longsuffering toard us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to reprentence." 2 Peter 3:9
